Letterpress prints from photopolymer plates.
Inspired by nineteenth century wood type and engraving, printmaker Sarah Rushton creates decorative motifs using playful and witty combinations of type and image, whereby botanical themes fuse with typographic form and vice-versa.
She draws on paper, fine-tunes on a Mac, inks and hand-pulls each individual print on 100% recycled paper using a vintage press (Farley or Adana). Each print is unique due to the hand-inked and pulled process.
The Aurum (Gold) series combine letterpress and chine colle techniques.
